Enter in the date when the vesting caluclations will start. Unless there is a cliff, the first vesting period will either be 1, 3, or 12 months from this date depending on the vesting frequency you choose. If there is a cliff, the first vesting period will depend on how many months the cliff is.

Enter in the number of months the vesting schedule will run from the vesting start date. This is independent of any cliff period (see below).

Select the frequency of the vesting periods from the list below. This determines how many months will be between vesting periods.

Enter in the number of months between the vesting start date and the first actual vesting period. Any number of options that would have vested before the cliff period will be added to the first actual vesting period. If there is no cliff period, enter '0' or leave this field blank.

This determines how rounded shares are distributed during the term of the schedule. Each option in the list shows how a total of 18 options would be split amongst 4 vesting periods based on the allocation type.
